LINDSAY JENKINS, HBSc.Kinesiology
Studio Director
Lindsay began her dance training at 4 years old, and she couldn't imagine a life without dancing! She started with ballet, but quickly expanded her training to include jazz, modern, lyrical, musical theatre, song & dance, and pointe. She received her early training at Newmarket School of Dance and Theatre Arts and later at A.M. Dance Force. Lindsay also studied piano under the Royal Conservatory of Music and was a cheerleader for her highschool cheer team; serving as Captain for her senior year.
Lindsay successfully passed numerous ballet and jazz examinations under the C.D.T.A syllabus (Canadian Dance Teachers Association) and with the P.A.E.C (Performing Arts Educator of Canada). As a member of her dance studio's competitive team, she was blessed with opportunities to compete across Ontario and the United States. As competitive dance teacher, her choreography has won awards and high marks at various competitions.
After teaching for Seneca College's Nursing Program for 5 years, Lindsay decided to pursue her true passion and opened Impulse Performance Arts Inc in 2010. Her educational background in anatomy, physiology, sports exercise and biology help her to provide a safe and effective learning environment for all Impulse dancers. As Studio Director, she hopes to share her knowledge, experience and enthusiasm with aspiring dancers and performers!
