Recreational Program Impulse offers many classes
that focus on developing proper technique and a love of dance in a fun, non-competitive, motivating atmosphere.
In these classes, the teacher aims to encourage participation and creativity in all students. Dance classes will improve
fitness, coordination, self-esteem, self-discipline and can provide students with attainable goals. Students
will learn current dance syllabi: PAEC- Performing Arts Educators of Canada, A.D.A.P.T – Associated Dance Arts
for Professional Teachers and RAD -Royal Academy of Dance). Examinations are available, but not required.
Most recreational classes perform in the Impulse Year-End Showcase giving students the opportunity to show off their hard
work!

Competitive Program The Impulse Competitive Team is for those dancers who wish to
add an exciting competitive edge to their dance training! Dancers are invited to become a member of the
Impulse Competitive Team…just ask your teacher! Along with technique classes, competitive dancers
learn choreography at a faster pace in order to participate in 2-3 local competitions per season. The competitive
program provides dancers with numerous performance opportunities, and develops a strong team ethic. All
competitive dancers are required to take Ballet and Stretch and Strength classes.
